We are happy to announce the release of appbzr 1.61 – please update your app on the AppStore.

This version mainly fixes the price drop pushes and the custom lists, but there are many little tweaks and changes under the hood as well. Detail views should load much faster now and we have fixed some problems with the daily reminder.

The development of appbzr has been a little slow in the last few months. We focused on other projects and the main developer has left the project, but we have found a more than adequate substitute. Since our appbzr users are very loyal, we will keep making updates for you.

By the way, please check out our newest project: AppFlux – maybe this will find it’s way into appbzr in the future.

Here is the full changelog:

  •  price drop pushes fixed
  • custom lists are now correctly backed up on the server
  • faster loading times for app detail views
  • problems with hot list have been resolved
  • fixed a bug with the 24h reminder
  • fixed a bug when mailing a custom list
Update
When you open the app for the first time after the update, please wait some seconds for your old lists to get synced with our server (there should be a loading indicator in the status bar). Opening the “my lists” section before the sync is completed will result in a crash. Don’t worry, your lists are safe.

As many of you may have noticed already, update 1.60 has been released by Apple this weekend. The most obvious change are the ratings, that are now shown in the lists and detail views.

We also improved the background graphics, added an optical hint for the list slider and added more space between the icons of the home view.

Unfortunately Apple changed an important part of their Store API at the same weekend. They did not tell us of course. This lead to the Hot Lists not being available and the Top100 lists were broken, too. Thanks to our server developers, we could fix the Hot App feature (please say thanks to him, because he worked all night…). The Top 100 lists are working again, as I write this news.

You can read the full changelog in the settings of appbzr. If you have any issues, please let us know via the feedback button.

We are happy to announce that version 1.53 of our appbzr is now available. We were able to track down more crash bugs and the app should now run much smoother. We also listened to the complains about the appbzr reminder and changed it back to have it push at a certain time of the day (please check your settings). You can still turn it off completely of course.

If you have any issues, please send us an email with a detailed description. We are happy to help.

We are also still searching for beta testers that help us try out the new features we want to integrate in the next version.

After many months of work we finally released a new version of our appbzr. Why did it take us so long?

The whole app has been rewritten to make room for the features to come. It may not look much different, but the underlying code is now much easier to maintain for us, making it possible to add more features step by step. We also redesigned the server side of the appbzr – making it much faster and supporting some new features that we want to introduce within the next months. Rather than going for one big update we decided to go for many small updates, always checking for your feedback.

As always, you can get the Update via the AppStore.

If you experience any issues, please let us know in the comments or use the feedback option in the settings.

Pomodoro Time  Management was one of our first apps in the Apple AppStore. It started as a small project for a niche market. Since then a year and a half has passed and the Pomodoro Technique has accumulated more fans throughout the world. We received a lot of feedback to our app and we just can’t resist to improve our products.

We added many things that have been requested by our users that should make this app even more useful for using the Pomodoro Technique. If you don’t know what the Pomodoro Technique is all about, here is a quick summary:

  1. Write down what you want to do today
  2. Work 25 uninterrupted minutes on one task
  3. Make a 5 minute break
  4. Start the next 25 minutes of work
  5. After 4 Pomodoros make a longer break (30 minutes)

To get more info, you should check out the official homepage: http://www.pomodorotechnique.com

You can find a video on youtube, explaining our approach for the iPhone.

This is what we added for version 2.0:

  1. task archive for recurring tasks
  2. tasks are tied to a pomodoro
  3. extensive statistics per day and month
  4. new timer settings

You can get the new pomodoro on the AppStore!

We had some issues with appbzr push notifications yesterday, because the amount of users has increased a lot the last week. We have been in the Top 10 of Italy for some days and our server had some problems with sending all the push notifications. The effect was that no push messages have been send for Sunday. You may have missed a price drop – make sure to check your list. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The good news is that we could improve our software and now everything should be back to normal. We are also confident that we are able to handle much more users – you are free to recommend or advertise our app ;-) .
